EKINOPS PM OM / RM OM
The EKINOPS Wave Division Multiplexing platform allows users to MUX and DMUX multiple wavelengths over one fiber combined with a flexible architecture that ensures the highest level of transport efficiency in optical networks.
Ekinops’ passive Optical Multiplexing modules are available in 1, 4, 8, 16 and 40 channels and can be ordered with an upgrade port that allows users to cascade multiple MUX/DMUX units for simple and efficient system expansion. It is designed to allow initial deployment of a low channel-count MUX that can be upgraded (up to 40 channels) without service interruption. Or deploy a 40 channel system day one and then upgrade (in the field) at a later date to 80 channels, without service interruption.
EKINOPS MUX/DMUX and OADM modules can be used for CWDM and DWDM applications and deployed in point-to-point, linear, ring, star and mesh topologies. The modules slide into the slots of the EKINOPS 360 chassis or the optical tray and the modules require no power for operation. Beside pluggable modules, EKINOPS offers its MUX/DMUX solution in the form of a 1RU rack-mount option.
EKINOPS PM OADM / RM OADM
OADM modules offer Optical Add&Drop functionality of 1, 2 , 4 or 8 wavelengths while passing through all other optical signals. This means that specific channels can be dropped at intermediate sites along the fiber route to provide connectivity to that site without the need to DMUX all the other wavelengths on the fiber.
Planning a WDM network with OADMs provides users with the flexibility to drop individual wavelengths in a single sided direction (east or west) or a dual sided (east and west).
Some OADM modules offer an access port that is used to connect to an amplifier which extends the distance of pass-through traffic.
