Ekinops, a leading provider of optical transport and DWDM solutions, grew significantly in 2007, having increased its revenue close to fourfold over 2006. The company has recently moved into larger premises in the city of Lannion, France, and appointed two key executives who will be heading new offices to open early next year in the UK and Asia.
Ekinops' strong growth throughout 2007 was due to several contracts with telecom carriers both in Europe and the US. In September 2007, EKINOPS raised $20 million to strengthen its sales and customer-support departments and to fund its international expansion.
The sustained growth of EKINOPS has led the company to move into larger premises in Lannion, in the province of Brittany, a well-established cluster of competitiveness in France's telecom sector. The new corporate headquarters is being inaugurated today. Company founders, managers and employees, customers, suppliers and partners, together with local officials and journalists, are attending the event.
Early next year, EKINOPS will open new offices in the United Kingdom and Asia, which will complement existing offices in France (Lannion and Paris) and throughout the US.
"We are very glad to welcome such high-level professionals to Ekinops. They are joining a team of the highest caliber and will bring their in-depth knowledge of the telecom industry together with a successful track record of developing new business in their markets," said Didier Bredy, EKINOPS chairman and CEO. "They are both successful pioneers and we are counting on them to further boost EKINOPS' expansion to new markets," Bredy said.
