Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of the components suppliers for the Telecom industry (Broadband, Radio, Optical, Core network) with numerous connections at C level within these organizations.
  • Proven negotiations skills with strategic suppliers and EMSs worldwide.
  • Manufacturing engineering, lean methodologies, DFx, continuous improvement (quality), financial understanding and a reasonable level of technical product knowledge are required. Experience in similar domain is desirable.
  • Provide necessary planning, organization, direction and control to meet the overall Manufacturing department goals for the company.
  • Continually improve operations through organization, evaluation, monitoring and training of staff.
  • Control and delegate appropriate work for the department managers and act as a liaison between departments (i.e. Finance, Product Marketing, R&D, etc.).

Job description

Within the EKINOPS R&D department, you will play a key role in the development of optical transport and networking products, working as part of a multidisciplinary agile team, developing and integrating software for the Ekinops360 Packet-Optical Transport Systems. The purpose is to evolve this systems to support the transport of more capacity in Gbps with less power consumption and smaller size, and at the same time with high level of automation, evolving the EKINOPS Software-Defined Networking features.

You will work with software technologies and such as Erlang/OTP, C, Netconf/REST APIs, no-SQL databases, Yocto, Linux drivers, ASIC SDKs, continuous integration, automation tools, and others, as well as networking technologies such as  high speed (400Gbps+) coherent optical systems, OTN/packet switching, FlexE, FlexO, SDN, networking control plane, and others.
