Duties and Responsibilities

Within the Access R&D department, the hardware design engineer will play a key role in the conception of our router solutions. You will work in the hardware team where you will be responsible to design and the test our new hardware platforms.  

As a hardware design engineer, you will be involved in:

  • Design & test electronic assemblies that:
    • meet or exceed all functional & project requirements from concept through to production
    • comply to the relevant European & International Safety & Emission/Immunity directives
    • meet costs requirements
  • Lead new design concepts through feasibility, prototyping, development and into manufacture.
  • Document all design and testing to the required level of detail
  • Test and debug designs to ensure correct operation under all operating conditions
  • Support existing products with design changes and testing when required
  • Participate in the peer reviews & check electronics design output from other team members
  • Create and check designs
    • To pass clear design information to the PCB Design Engineer & check its design output.
    • To generate schematics and PCB layout output when required.
    • To check and validate the design output from other design engineers.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members, specifically
    • Software and mechanical engineers on design integration
    • Manufacturing Engineering to ensure design for manufacture, efficient design transfer and high production yields
  • Keep up to date with technology advances.

Profile and skills

Having a Master degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience, you will have the following skills:

  • Knowledge of following processors: ARM, PowerPC, Intel
  • Knowledge in design using low power 32/64bit microcontrollers
  • Knowledge on FPGA design
  • Knowledge in circuit simulation
  • Analytical and thorough approach to design
  • Ability to work with precision even when timelines are condensed
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management
  • Fluent in French and English
