Duties and Responsibilities

During the manufacturing process, our electronic devices have to pass several tests (e.g. JTAG, functional testing, etc.) and inspections (e.g. AOI). When a defect or abnormality is found on a product, it goes to the repair engineer and the diagnostic stage can begin.

  • He / she has to investigate, diagnose the root cause of the fault and coordinate the repair process with the technicians. Sometimes it will be helpful to check with the other departments, trace back to the origin of the fault, and take steps to improve the manufacturing process.
  • Working in the manufacturing department is challenging because you never know when a problem will pop up and what you will learn that day. A good understanding of software, hardware, the manufacturing process and a problem-solving attitude is required.
  • After the diagnostic is completed, the repair engineer makes a report with pictures, logs, measurements, etc. and shares its findings with the process engineer or the R&D department for future improvements.
  • Next to production, the repair engineer also repairs and inspects products that come back from customers in the RMA repair department.

The working environment is on the production floor amid the semi-finished products.
